Arbor terms of service
Last updated: 2026-06-11
By using Arbor you agree to these terms. They are intentionally short — please read them. Arbor is operated by Rondanini Publishing Ltd.
1. Service overview
Arbor is an AI-visibility monitoring tool: it generates buyer-intent prompts about your category, sends them to AI assistants such as Claude and ChatGPT, stores the answers, and analyses how your company appears in those answers. Features and third-party model providers are subject to change.
2. Content and ownership
You retain full ownership of the company-profile data you enter and of the run outputs we produce on your behalf. We do not claim a licence to your content beyond running the visibility checks you asked for and storing the resulting evidence inside your account.
Raw model answers shown in Arbor are produced by third-party AI providers; their wording and accuracy are not guaranteed by us, and they may change as the underlying models change.
3. Acceptable use
- No illegal content, impersonation, or targeting of identifiable individuals.
- You comply with the third-party AI providers' usage policies (Anthropic, OpenAI) when running visibility checks through Arbor.
- No attempts to circumvent plan limits, rate limits, or security controls; no automated abuse of the free-report form.
- You are responsible for the Slack webhook URLs and alert emails you configure on your profiles, and for the consent of any party receiving alerts from Arbor on your behalf.
4. Plans, billing and credits
- Subscriptions auto-renew through Stripe. The 14-day trial does not auto-charge — you pick a plan or stop at day 14.
- Cloud plans include a monthly cap of visibility checks. Beyond the cap, Arbor shows a confirmation step before any prepaid credits are spent on a run.
- Prepaid credits do not expire while your account is active. They are non-refundable once consumed.
- Self-host licences are annual and run on your infrastructure with your own AI- provider keys. The licence fee covers the licence key that unlocks premium features, plus releases, security patches and migration support; the core product is free to self-host under ELv2 and the AI-provider bills are yours.
- Pricing and feature inclusions may change for new sign-ups; existing subscribers are given reasonable notice before changes apply to them.
5. Service status & beta features
Arbor is a live commercial product. Some features (those marked "Roadmap" on the pricing page or labelled beta inside the app) are offered on an "as-is" basis while we iterate. Behaviour, limits and pricing for those features may change. Real-time service health is on the status page.
6. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim arising out of your use of Arbor is capped at the amounts you have paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim. We exclude indirect, incidental, special and consequential damages.
7. Termination
You can cancel your subscription at any time from the Billing page; your account stays active until the end of the current billing period. To delete the account itself plus the data it owns, email privacy@berta.one. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms.
8. Source code & licence
Arbor's source code is available under the Elastic License 2.0 (ELv2).
What you may do, free of charge: read, fork, modify, and run Arbor on your own infrastructure for your own internal use. This includes agencies that self-host Arbor to produce reports for their clients. The core product — company profiles, prompt generation, runs, analysis, and the published scoring math — is fully functional when self-hosted without payment.
What the licence does not permit: offering Arbor itself to third parties as a hosted or managed service (i.e. reselling Arbor as a SaaS); removing or circumventing the licence-key functionality that protects premium features; or removing copyright and attribution notices.
What the paid Self-host licence buys: a licence key that unlocks premium features (see the pricing page for the current list), plus annual updates, security patches, and migration support. The free self-hosted core remains free; the annual fee covers the keyed features and the support relationship.
Cloud: the hosted version at arbor.berta.one is a separate commercial service governed by these terms of service. Cloud plans exist for teams who would rather not operate their own deployment.
If you want to do something the licence doesn't cover — commercial hosting, OEM embedding, white-label resale of the software itself — contact arbor@berta.one for a commercial licence.
